Affinia Home Care is proud to be a member of the California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH). CAHSAH is the leading state association that represents home care companies that adhere to the highest ethical and legal standards. Membership is limited to home care agencies that classify their Caregivers as employees, not independent contractors. If an agency provides you with a Caregiver that is an independent contractor, you would be taking on the responsibilities of an employer, which includes paying state and federal payroll taxes, social security taxes and you are liable for any injuries that are sustained by the Caregiver while on duty.
Affinia Home Care employs all of our Caregivers, which means we pay their payroll taxes, social security taxes and they are covered by our workers comp insurance should they be injured in your home. We also have a rigorous screening process that includes verifying the Caregiver’s eligibility to work in the United States, conducting criminal background checks, confirming negative Tuberculosis (TB) tests and assessing their experience and skills. All Affinia Caregivers are also registered in the State of California Home Care Aide Registry.
